PROCRASTINATION

Buying groceries

You tell yourself: I need to buy groceries and cook more because I don’t have enough money. You make a plan to go after work, but Nick and Heather from shipping are going out for a post-work drink, and you just got invited. You don’t know Nick or Heather. You might have a horrible time. You might have a great time. You need to get groceries. You need to get groceries! You can’t go another night of eating spoonfuls of peanut butter. You need food. You go out for that drink. You tell yourself it’ll be fine. You get home late, and your order in. You just spent some quality time with Nick and Heather and had a great meal. Now you’re more broke, but that’s okay because there’s a fire under my now to go out into this world and make more money to sustain this out of control lifestyle. You work harder.

Procrastinating: not doing something when you know you should be doing it. You let your mind wander, put off the stuff you should be doing and replace it with other less important stuff.
